RRRC Committees
A founding principle of Planning District Commissions is "to encourage and facilitate local government cooperation
and state-local cooperation in addressing on a regional basis problems
of greater than local significance." The Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission remains
committed to fostering regional cooperation, coordination and collaboration through development
of regional committees that focus on a variety of issues of importance to the Rappahannock-Rapidan region.

RRRC committees.
RRRC Rural Transporation Technical Committee
(RTC): The RTC is made up of town and county planners, Virginia Department
of Transportation representatives and regional transportation stakeholders.
This committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise
specified) and is led by Chairman Chris Mothersead, Planning Director
for the Town of Warrenton and Vice Chairman John Egertson, Planning Director
for Culpeper County.

RRRC Workforce Affordable Housing Committee: The RRRC Housing committee works
to provide relevant data, reports and information to facilitate regional efforts to advise the Regional Commission
on and to develop workforce affordable housing opportunities. This committee meets quarterly and is led by Chairman
and Regional Commissioner Tony Hooper, Deputy County Administrator for Fauquier County.

RRRC Regional Tourism Committee: The RRRC Tourism Committee is made up of town and county
tourism directors, economic development directors and regional tourism professionals. The committee meets quarterly
to share ongoing tourism initiatives, regional tourism promotional opportunities and identify regional tourism
goals and needs.

RRRC Land Use & Environment Committee: The
RRRC Land Use & Environment Committee includes local land use administrators,
planners and environmental managers and provides an opportunity to exchange
information, review state regulations and discuss land use and environmental
issues of regional importance. This committee meets quarterly.
