The purpose of The Center for Rappahannock-Rapidan Environmental Stewardship
(CRRES) is to initiate and exchange environmental information and tools
to organizations and interested partners throughout the region.
CRRES was created through a grant from the EPA
through the Virginia
Department of Environmental Quality to support the educational and
outreach efforts of local and state government agencies, Soil & Water
Conservation Districts, and nonprofit organizations. In addition, CRRES
will provide tools and support to emerging environmental organizations.
As the host, the Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission is charged with
gathering the participating organizations and facilitating environmental
stewardship throughout the region. Steering Committee participants recognized
that development of the webpage was a necessary first step in facilitating
the exchange of information. The Committee envisions CRRES to serve as
a collaborative network between agencies and organizations to expand and
enhance environmental planning and programming throughout the region.
See the links to the left for CRRES related information or contact the
Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission at (540) 829-7450 for more information.
