Culpeper County Disability Services Board

Effective June 1, 2009, the General Assembly has removed the mandate and administrative funding for Disability Services Boards in Virginia. The Culpeper County DSB will continue to meet according to its regular schedule at this time. Additional information is available here.

The mission of the Culpeper County Disability Services Board (CC-DSB) is to plan and advocate for persons of all ages in Culpeper County who have physical and/or sensory disabilities, and to fulfill the duties and responsibilities as specified for a Disability Services Board in Section 51.5-48, Code of Virginia.

The Board's vision is a barrier-free community supporting independent living and self-sufficiency for people with disabilities.

To fulfill the mission and vision, the goals of the CCDSB are to:

Learn the needs of area residents who have physical and/or sensory disabilities.
Raise local and state awareness of those needs.
Foster innovations to include people with disabilities into mainstream community life.

The Culpeper Disability Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of every odd month at 10:00 a.m. in the conference room of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission.
