Transportation

Mapping plays an important role in the Regional Commission's Transportation studies. Recent plans, such as the RRRC Rail Study and Phase I of the RRRC Travel Time Study, have used GIS to complement the associated data and conclusions present in the studies.  The RRRC Rural Transportation Committee has overseen the production of several maps in support of its work on the Regional Long Range Transportation Plan.

Phase I Travel Time Corridors map - 166KB

Environment

The Regional Commission has completed various TMDL Development and TMDL Implementation studies, with mapping and GIS forming an integral part of the TMDL process.  Watershed boundaries and impaired segments are mapped and displayed at public meetings and GIS is used to identify stakeholders within the affected watersheds for public meeting announcements.

Emergency Preparedness

As part of the Commission's cataloging of emergency resources in the area, this map was created to show designated vaccination distribution sites across the region. The map also shows population density across the region.

GIS Services

GIS is used as an analytical tool in various planning and development projects conducted on behalf of the jurisdictions supporting the Regional Commission. From time to time the Commission may assist non-profit organizations, private entities, and non-supporting jurisdictions with their mapping needs. These external mapping projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis according to the Commission's current workload and the project's overall benefit to the Region. For further information, or to discuss your mapping needs and the Commission's rates, please contact Patrick Mauney, GIS Planner.
