The Regional Commission was awarded an Economic Adjustment Assistance grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration in 2022 to support development of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region. Working in collaboration with the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission and the GO Virginia Region 9 Council, the overall project will produce unique CEDS plans for both the RRRC and TJPDC region focusing on each region's economic assets, strengths and opportunities, as well as a super-regional report focused on the shared opportunities and strategies for the entirety of the two regions.
RRRC and TJPDC have contracted with Camoin Associates to oversee the development of the CEDS reports and are working with stakeholders from local governments, higher education, private sector (including but not limited to Chambers of Commerce, Workforce Development organizations, Small Business Development Centers and Main Street organizations) to provide oversight throughout the study development process.
Information regarding the study will be posted to this web page as and when available. Documents posted should be assumed to be in draft form unless otherwise noted.
